Today I wanted to pay a little tribute to the giant that was Stan Lee.
Here is a guy who as a passionate writer in his own words set out to write the ‘great American novel’

What he ended up doing in the pursuit on that dream was write some of the most loved American stories in history.

I can’t comment on how Stan Lee changed my life the way someone like my brother can, or my other friends who are deeply into comic books, but I can say he is someone as a fellow artist I have absolutely been inspired by.

For me as a performer and producer the spectacle of superhero movies and the entertainment they provide are a big part of my life. I produce to entertain and hopefully through that to inspire the desire in others. The worlds and characters that Stan Lee helped create have been an inspiration to me throughout my journey as a creator as an example that even the weirdest ideas can have merit.
The freedom to imagine the absurd and turn it into something that people can connect with is truly spectacular and because of that he inspired me.

For me the growth of the MCU has been, like most comic fringe dwellers something to Marvel (pun intended) and the way that Stan Lee has been lifted up as an icon throughout its growth has been amazing to watch. To think that he started getting coffee for other writers to what his legacy has become is inspirational to me.

Stan lee has been regarded as one of the greatest influences in comic books for years, but the explosion in the last 20 years, since the age of 75, with the growth of the MCU he has become revered in the mainstream as a God amongst storytellers for the impact he had over a lifetime.
But more importantly over the future lifetimes that will continue to be impacted by his creations.

If you have a dream to be a creator of any sort, START NOW!

If you hope that one day you can influence people through your creativity START NOW!

Whatever it is you love – Even if for now it is when you can, as you can, around everything else you have in your life. Every chance you get to do that thing you love, is one more day you have the chance to change a life around you with your truest most authentic self, and that is what the world needs.

Start now and sort out the strategy, the plan and the details as you go, but just start.

Maybe you starting is simply taking one step closer to working in or around that thing you love – for Stan Lee it was getting coffee for other writers.

What can you do to start that journey to get one step closer to doing the thing you love?

You can’t get where you want to go if you never start moving and keep moving forward.

You have time, and it will take time but you have to start.

Thank you Stan Lee for a life well given.
